Sander Hoogendoorn: An introduction to smart use cases.

Aligning, modeling and structuring requirements at the right level in agile projects

With the rise of agile approaches for doing product and software development, teams needed to find new approaches to dealing with requirements. Where traditionally we wrote elaborate documentation, attention seems to have shifted quite a bit since agile, leading to light-weighted techniques such as user stories. However, it is not always clear how to best apply requirements techniques in agile projects.

During this intensive one-day workshop, teacher Sander Hoogendoorn will introduce a proven approach based on smart use cases, that help teams to align agile requirements with the business and to model smart use cases (or user stories) at the right level to use these as valid work items in agile approaches. Sander not only teaches these very useful techniques but also lets you practice in exercises using a playful case.

Alexandru Ionescu, Senior Trainer @ColorsInProjects: Have a Nice Conflict

A great introduction to knowing yourself and collaborating effectively with others.

The workshop is based on Strengths Deployment Inventory ® (SDI), a powerful and effective tool for understanding the motives and values that drive behaviors.

The SDI plays off people’s basic need to better understand themselves and others, and that understanding allows them to lead with clarity and empathy, build stronger teams, and more effectively navigate conflict.

Until the people in your life start coming with instruction manuals... there is SDI®

  • The SDI depersonalizes conflict...

It’s a non-threatening method for dealing with the  interpersonal conflicthat is too often avoided.

  • The SDI illuminates the reason for our actions...

It’s a snapshot of who we are — going beyond behavior to reveal our driving

After finalizing the course, participants will:

  • Understand and be able to adapt to situations, emotions and motivations of others
  • Be able to establish a favorable working climate at individual and team level
  • Be able to build productive relationships, communicate and influence to improve relationships with partners and customers
  • Identify triggers for conflict situations and apply conflict resolutions techniques
  •

Bogdan Muresan, Senior Trainer @ ColorsInProjects. From Vision to Commitments

The workshop is designed to cover three important objectives through very practical exercises:

  • Will provide the participants a tool to transform their vision, their ideas, into a backlog ready to be implemented
  • Will strengthen their abilities to plan and adapt a release in Agile environments
  • Will lead participants to acquire the relevant knowledge and skills required to provide accurate estimations for their release plan so that they can move from vision to commitments
